Curls on Cue

Like everyone in the world, I too yearn to step out of the house with glorious bouncy hair first thing in the morning, but unfortunately I do not have too much time nor too much money.

I found a solution! I got this Conair curling iron for just $16, and though I have always used wands(which I just broke hence this hunt)- I thought I would give this clamped one a try.

This model is called: Instant Heat 1 1/4″ and though it’s an older one, it allows for  an instant 60 second heat-up, something I am very happy to hear about.

It took me a bit of research and practise, to finally learn how to use this curling iron, but now that I have gotten the hang of it- I can safely say I prefer the way my curls turn on with the clamped irons as opposed to the wands. I feel as though with these, your hair gets more of a wave along with the curls, leaving your hair with more of an overall shape- which I really like.

Incase you want to give this a try, here is a link to help you. This is a link to the video tutorial that taught me everything. Thanks Howcast!

A crucial finishing touch to your curls is the proper application of hairspray. This part sets the shape of your curls and holds them in place, making them last in your hair for a long time.

I highly recommend using Marc Anthony’s Nourishing Argon Oil of Morocco’s volumizing hairspray. Most hairsprays tend to be damaging to your hair, but this one is sulfate free, and is infused with keratin and UV protectors. The Argon Oil also adds this really nice aroma to the product, so your hair will smell amazing on top of looking like a million bucks!

ALSO! I recently came across Marc Anthony’s Oil Treatment Spray- and am obsessed! It allows my dry hair to immediately look really glossy while nourishing it as well. All you have to do is apply a few drops to damp hair after a wash! I got it from London Drugs for $11.

Thank you for this!! I hate using hairspray because of the chemicals, but this one seems less bad. Wish I knew about it sooner gah.

I mean this one has chemicals too, but I agree- it seems to be one of the better ones.

This video actually makes trying this out look less hard. I struggle to understand the others where the girls hands are stretched behind their heads while trying to explain lol.
