Get Nailed!

Hi beauties,

Happy Thursday!
Today’s topic will be NAILS! Yay!
So, I have always had weak nails which is really frustrating because I keep trying to grow them out- but before they can even get there, they break.
I tried getting acrylic nail extensions a bunch of times, but they just weakened my nails some more, were expensive and made trying to anything with my hands extremely hard!
It wasn’t long before I put my foot down and decided it was time for me to invest in taking some proper care of my nails.
It has taken a consistent work and time, but my nails have become stronger! Hooray!

If you feel my nail pains, here are some of the things I have done which have worked- give them a try, and see the difference in your own nails:

Moisturize your nail beds and cuticles: Many a times your nails break because of a lack of moisture, and cuticle creams add oils to them, strengthening them over time. Lush has a great selection of these.
Take Biotin supplements: This is a kind of Vitamin B, and causes nail thickening, which in turn will decrease breaking and splitting.

File your nails with smooth files: Avoid cheaper, rougher emery boards. These are really harsh on your nails and will cause tears!
Use strengthening nail varnish: At least once a weak use this to strengthen your nails.

Before applying any nail polish to your nails, use a strengthening nail varnish as the bottom coat to prevent your nails from directly absorbing the chemicals from your polish.
I hope you find this useful ladies! ❤

Before signing off, I would like to take a minute to thank the famous The Ten Spot for an amazing manicure!
I think I have found my new favorite nail care spot!
I went into their quaint salon in Yaletown, to be greeted extremely well with tea, coffee and water, after which I was lead to my station with a selection of gel nail colors to choose from.
The Ten Spot is extremely hygienic with their procedures and make it a priority to ensure that new and sanitized equipment is being used.
My nail technician, Hannah, was extremely sweet, and gave me pretty cotton candy pink nails with a glitter ring finger accent. Perfect for spring!
She also gave me this awesome hand massage afterwards(part of the package) which made me want to fall asleep for real.
Book an appointment today! They don’t only offer manicure and pedicure services, but also waxing, tinting, threading and other skin care services- for incredibly reasonable prices.
